Rob Joy Sing-Along

Children's singer Rob Joy visited the daycare for a Sing-Along show. His guitar-strummin’, toe-tappin' mix of original and traditional songs was so interactive and fun! Tricky Ricky Magic Show Comes to our Daycare!

Tricky Ricky the Magician was a big hit with his entertaining and engaging magic show. We had a very captive audience! It was interactive as he got the children involved in the show and even brought his very clever rabbit "Lucy" for some animal magic. Adding kids entertainment to our summer programming enriches learning at our daycare in Vaughan.

Bubble Show!

The Smile-Group Bubble Show came to Discovery Point! This is an exclusive performance filled with fascinating bubble magic, juggling elements and cool music. It includes a variety of bubble tricks of different shapes and sizes, letting the kids be right inside the bubbles and watching them rise all around them, sphere bubbles, volcano bubbles, and bubble tennis. The children lit up with wonder and amazement! The Bubble Show visit is a highlight this month as part of our programming to bring both educational and magical moments to the child care experience at our daycare in Vaughan.

This Flu Season Predicted to Have Most Child Deaths on Record says CDC

Experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predict this year will be the deadliest season for pediatric deaths from seasonal flu since the CDC mandated they be recorded in 2004, with numbers predicted to surpass 170. 
“The flu vaccine is not perfect, we know that, but it’s the best preventative measure we have today,” Marotta said. “One thing that bothered me in the media today was people saying it’s only 36 percent effective. But let’s put that into context ― 36 percent is better than 0 percent.”
The CDC has recommended since 2010 that everybody aged 6 months and older get vaccinated for the flu ― and that pregnant women get vaccinated in order to help protect those under 6 months.
