Children's singer Rob Joy visited the daycare for a Sing-Along show. His guitar-strummin’, toe-tappin' mix of original and traditional songs was so interactive and fun! The kids at daycare were singing to the music, engaged in movement, and playing along with their own instruments. For more pics, login to Parent Corner on our website.

Tricky Ricky the Magician was a big hit with his entertaining and engaging magic show. We had a very captive audience! It was interactive as he got the children involved in the show and even brought his very clever rabbit "Lucy" for some animal magic. Adding kids entertainment to our summer programming enriches learning at our daycare in Vaughan.

The Smile-Group Bubble Show came to Discovery Point! This is an exclusive performance filled with fascinating bubble magic, juggling elements and cool music. It includes a variety of bubble tricks of different shapes and sizes, letting the kids be right inside the bubbles and watching them rise all around them, sphere bubbles, volcano bubbles, and bubble tennis. The children lit up with wonder and amazement! The Bubble Show visit is a highlight this month as part of our programming to bring both educational and magical moments to the child care experience at our daycare in Vaughan.

We offer special programming at our daycare to enrich children's learning. The kids enjoyed the Animal Ambassadors Canada visit where they got hands-on interaction and education about little fuzzy friends. We love to see their eyes light up! Click here to learn more about Animal Ambassadors.

Child care environments are wonderful places for children to learn about new foods, eat familiar foods in a different environment and the best thing – eat together with their peers. Children are more likely to try new foods when they see their classmates doing the same thing.

When a children do something hurtful, even if accidental, sometimes parents try to force apologies from their children to rectify the situation. Usually, they’ll give the kid a stern look, and ask, “Hey, what do you say?” Then, when the child mutters a robotic “sorry,” all is good! Manners! We’re teaching them!

Note to parents and caregivers:
If your child is home sick, they must be fever-free and vomit free for 24 hours before returning to school. Many viruses are active at this time of year in the community, including enteric viruses (like norovirus) and respiratory viruses (like influenza, commonly known as the flu.)
Preventative measures can help reduce the spread of illness in the community.
